These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of EDAT, available at edatatemplate.com. Please read these Terms carefully before using the platform.
Acceptance of Terms
Agreement
By accessing or using EDAT (available at edatatemplate.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using EDAT on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use EDAT. The platform is intended for business and professional use.
Updates
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
Platform Description
What EDAT provides
EDAT is a carbon accounting and environmental data management platform. It enables organisations to track GHG emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3, manage energy and waste data, run calculations using EPA WARM v16 and GHG Protocol methodologies, and generate compliance-ready reports.
Calculation standards
EDAT uses EPA, IPCC and GHG Protocol emission factors with configurable GWP sets (AR4, AR5, AR6). Results are calculated automatically based on the data you enter. EDAT is a tool to support your sustainability reporting — it does not constitute professional environmental consultancy advice.
Data ownership
All environmental data you enter into EDAT remains your organisation's property. We do not claim any rights over your emission records, energy data, waste data or reports.
Account Responsibilities
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Use a strong, unique password. Notify us immediately at hello@edatatemplate.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
Accurate information
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating your account and to keep it updated. Providing false information may result in account suspension.
Authorised users
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, including actions taken by users you have authorised. Ensure any users you grant access to understand and comply with these terms.
One account per organisation
Each organisation should maintain one primary account. Multiple accounts for the same organisation are not permitted without prior written consent.
Acceptable Use
Permitted use
EDAT is licensed for your internal business use: tracking your organisation's environmental data, generating sustainability reports and planning emission reduction activities.
Prohibited activities
You may not use EDAT to: (a) violate any law or regulation; (b) upload malicious code or attempt to compromise platform security; (c) scrape, copy or reverse-engineer the platform; (d) resell or sublicense access to EDAT without written consent; (e) upload data that infringes third-party intellectual property.
Data integrity
You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. Deliberately entering false emission data to manipulate sustainability reports is a serious misuse of the platform.
Subscription and Billing
Free trial
EDAT offers a 14-day free trial with access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial.
Paid plans
After the trial period, continued use requires a paid subscription. Pricing information is available at edatatemplate.com. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for unused portions of prepaid periods, except where required by law.
Price changes
We will provide at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Price changes take effect at your next renewal date.
Intellectual Property
EDAT platform
All rights in the EDAT platform, including its software, design, calculation methodologies and documentation, are owned by EDAT. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the platform.
Your data
You retain all rights to the environmental data, reports and content you create using EDAT. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide you with the service.
Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions about EDAT, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use that feedback to improve our products and services.
Liability and Disclaimers
As-is service
EDAT is provided 'as is'. While we work hard to maintain accuracy, we do not warrant that calculation results will be free from error, or that the platform will meet every specific regulatory requirement in your jurisdiction.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EDAT's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or incidental damages.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for verifying that EDAT's outputs meet the specific requirements of the reporting frameworks you use (CDP, TCFD, CSRD, etc.) and for any final decisions made on the basis of those outputs.
Uptime
We target 99.9% platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
Termination
By you
You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@edatatemplate.com or using the account settings page. Your data will be deleted within 30 days of confirmed account closure.
By EDAT
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity or present a security risk to other users, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the issue.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. Export your reports and data before closing your account as recovery may not be possible after deletion.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of EDAT shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer in another jurisdiction where local law mandates otherwise.
These Terms were last updated on 19 May 2025. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@edatatemplate.com or visit edatatemplate.com.
